Micro-Sensor GmbH
Company Background:
Micro-Sensor GmbH is rooted in one of the numerous research institutes in Jena. The spin-off took place in 1997 aiming to build up core competence in the development and production of optical and microtechnological components. In 2000 Micro-Hybrid Electronic GmbH in Hermsdorf acquired a stake in the former M+S Mikrotechnik und Sensorik GmbH. The acquisition of a 50%-share by the Micro-Epsilon Group ensured the development of important core competencies. It was now feasible to realize a focused and growth-oriented market strategy. Immediately afterwards, microsystem technological competencies enabled to start first product development projects in the field of force sensors. At the same time, the first analog acceleration sensors were launched.
In 2006/2007 BG 2168 series started (two-axis acceleration sensors), the development of the CANopen sensor BG 2180 (fully digital acceleration sensor) began in 2010/11, in 2012/13 the USB sensor BG 2190 (power supply via USB) followed. Now inclination sensors of AccIS 10 series round off the product portfolio. A high precision sensor to handle highest metrological tasks will be introduced to the market in 2014.
Since 2012 the company trades under the name Micro-Sensor and focuses exclusively on sensor solutions in the fields of acceleration, position, inclination and force. Thus, it is the competence center of sensor technology for acceleration and force of the globally operating Micro-Epsilon Group. Micro-Sensor was fully integrated into the Micro-Epsilon Group in 2013.
